ACA Open Enrollment 2027: Dates, Deadlines and What’s Changed
Open enrollment for 2027 ACA Marketplace (Obamacare) health plans runs from November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027 on HealthCare.gov. Enroll by December 15, 2026 for coverage that starts January 1, 2027.
Key dates for 2027 coverage
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| November 1, 2026 | Open enrollment opens on HealthCare.gov |
| December 15, 2026 | Last day to enroll for coverage starting January 1, 2027 |
| January 15, 2027 | Open enrollment closes. Plans chosen December 16 – January 15 start February 1, 2027 |
Florida uses HealthCare.gov, so these dates apply to Florida residents. A 2025 federal rule would have shortened the window starting with 2027 coverage, but that rule was vacated in court in 2026, and HealthCare.gov lists the November 1 – January 15 window.
What’s different in 2027
The enhanced premium tax credits that lowered Marketplace premiums from 2021 through 2025 expired at the end of 2025. Under current law, the original ACA tax credit applies again. Households with income between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty level can qualify, and the amount depends on income, household size and local plan prices.
Many insurers have also raised 2027 premiums. That makes comparing plans this year more important than usual: the plan that was cheapest in 2026 may not be the best value in 2027.
How to get ready
- Gather your information: household members, expected 2027 income, current plan details and the doctors and prescriptions you want covered.
- Review your renewal notice. Check the new premium, deductible and network.
- Compare plans side by side. Look at total yearly cost, not only the monthly premium.
- Enroll by December 15 if you want coverage from January 1.
Missed open enrollment?
You may still qualify for a Special Enrollment Period after events such as losing job-based coverage, moving, marriage or having a baby. Florida residents can also read our guide to Obamacare in Florida for income limits and eligibility.
